The Whitney Museum Of American Art In New York City
The Whitney Museum of American Art is located in New York City, also known informally as the “Whitney”. It was established by Gertrude Vanderbilt, a prominent and wealthy American art patron, and benefactor, after which it was named after her. This art museum has been open to the public since September 1914.
The present structure of the museum is designed around four zones: education, society, life/work, and conservatory.
